Final Speech

Classmates and teacher:

A lot of people will say that four years are nothing. Other people may say that these were the more valuable years of our lives. Although is hard to explain it, I think we agree when I said that these years pass both quickly and slowly at the same time.

When I entered Inacap I did not know what to expect of it. For me this university was just the same as any other one. In my mind, this only was the place that would bring me up professionally, giving me the tools to then being able to practice and add myself to the work labor.  However, this thought change with the pass of the time. These classrooms, where we were for almost every day during the past four years, not only were the place when we study, but also where we found friends and teachers that always supported us.

Obviously, not all had been all pink in these years. Problems, fights and disagreements had been present every day for very and many different reasons, but until now I had not really understand and figure it out that being able to overcome it all together it make us better as humans being and individuals.

I am really confident that the way that whatever the road that we follow it will be the better.

T.S. Eliot said once “What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”

Here we are closing one chapter of our book to start another one.

Paine

Paine is a small town located in the central zone of Chile. In the past, Paine was full of lots, but the need of expansion makes that a lot of apartment buildings and condominium were built. However, in Rinconada de Paine there are still a lot lof lots. Paine have a football team called Tricolor de Paine, and it’s considered the worse team of Chile, because one time they played against Colo Colo and the later one made them about 25 or more goals. Paine is a friendly town because everyone knows each other. Other interesting thing about Paine is that is very popular for its watermelon. Everyone said that are the best of the country. In fact, in the summer they made an event called “Festival de la Sandía”. Also is a much recommended place to visit in September because they celebrate with traditional holidays, such as rodeo, palo encebado, among others. From Santiago, you can go taking the Metrotren until Paine station. The visit is very cheap: the trip cost about $850 pesos and there you have to take collective taxi, which cost about $600 pesos. Now, if you get bored with the town, there is a Monticello casino very, very close from there.

Biochemistry of Love

Love can’t be explained… right?

Everyone says that love can’t be explained, love is love, love is a feeling, and you just feel it or not. Well, love can be explained.

Our brain produce some hormones, which are called “drugs of happiness” and these are the cause of a big part of the process of falling in love.

  • Oxitocyn is the one related to the sexual part.
  • Dopamine is the one related to kindness
  • Endorfine  is the one related to the balance of our emotions
  • Epinefrine is the one related to the achieve of goals
  • Finilananina is the one related to the enjoying of life

When we fell in love, we produce about 7000 more dopamine than the usual and that is mixed with dopamine and finilananina. When a mother gave birth to his child, she produces a high quantity of dopamine.

Of course, you can produce these hormones doing exercise, loving what you do, being positive, and having a good self-esteem.

Now, we all know that we can have sex without falling in love, but if you have sex with the same person, you will ended up falling in love, because your body react with these hormones, and it’s going to ‘demand’ you to have feelings.  That is the reason why we can see in movies that friends or people without feelings for each other, after having a lot of sex ended up in love.

Another interesting point is that love end after 3 years. Well… it’s truth. Kind of... what happens is that our body get immune to these drugs; therefore, we are no longer in that mood, but our body create new drugs to replace the other ones, and we fell new feelings like security and being comfortable.

In short, as we can see happiness is up to us (and inside us)

Gay adoption

I’m totally agree with the homosexual adoption because I thing that kids are better with a couple that love each other and really wants to have kids, and they aren’t in a home alone, without the enough care and worry.  It doesn’t matter if this couple is man and woman, woman and woman or man and man; the important thing is that they really want to have a child (which for traditional couples is easier)
When people fall in love; they do it for the soul not the body. Love is love and it’s not just for some people.  Besides, its logic that a couple that love each other wants to have kids, which in this case means an adoption.   The main problem that some people find in these cases is that the kid will not having a “normal” life, and the whole situation may cause some damages. But, there are cases in which these kids are perfectly normal.  Parents explain them what’s going on, and that’s it. Just that. It’s not different from a kid that was adopted and time later the biological mother or father, or both of them appear in his/her life. In that case is acceptable that hi/her has two moms or two dads.

My job experience

I worked about 10 months at a call center, but I was not an executive at the phone with clients, I was in the area of quality. This means that I had to listening the records of the executive and their sells, and decided if the sale was correct or not. Of course, I decided that depending on a form. Every record last between 10 to 30 minutes, and I had to do about 15 records per day. At the beginning, I listening to the sales of secures, which was a lot of pressure, because I had to be very careful with every record and every detail.  The good thing is that I learned a lot about secures and how to deal with the sellers.  I worked with secures about 6 months, then I was transfer to another count, which was credit cards. I do not really liked worked in that account, because it was a new area and the company did not even had the page to worked with it (in the secures account I had to work in a web page, but in credit card I had to fill an excel page.) Finally, I quit to that  job because it was the end of the academic semester and I was really tired. That plus I did not like the area of credit card, because I had to do the double of what I did in the secure account and my paid was the half of it. Other thing that I learned is that I do not want to work in a call center as executive because is very stressful. I certainty hope to find a job that really likes me...

Tattoo like Art

Some of the things that I like are read and music. But the truth is that there is one more thing that I started to like a few years ago:  tattoos. Tattoos, just like music and writing and painting, are a form of art. Why? Because art is a way to express a feeling or something. Art is equal to express. When someone got a tattoo is for a reason, no one get a tattoo without it. For example, I know someone that has a tattoo that says: Picture of my life. This phrase for that person is very important because represent how his life has been, and the phrase came out from a song. I really want to make me one… well, another one. I want a butterfly and the word psyche, because in Grieg mythology Psyche was the women who Cupid’s fell in love.  But Psyche also means “soul” and some people believe that the butterfly is the representation of the “soul”, and that is why psyche means “soul” and “butterfly” at the same time.  In addition, the butterfly represents freedom and transformation.

I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?Zhuangzi
